Sculptural and grounded, this late 20th century travertine console table brings together raw materiality and architectural form. Carved from solid travertine, the design plays with contrast—smooth, honed surfaces meet naturally rough edges, creating a layered visual rhythm that shifts with the light.
The stone’s warm, sandy tones and soft veining highlight its geologic origins. Formed over thousands of years in mineral-rich springs, travertine carries a quiet depth—each piece entirely unique, shaped by time as much as by hand.
The table’s monolithic silhouette nods to postmodern and brutalist influences, recalling the sculptural work of designers like Willy Ballez, Mario Bellini, and Angelo Mangiarotti. A hollow pedestal base supports the top, creating the illusion of a single carved block while keeping the form visually balanced.
Equally at home in modern, minimalist, maximialist, or wabi-sabi spaces, this console serves as a natural focal point—ideal for an entryway, behind a sofa, or as a platform for sculpture and art objects.
CONDITION:
Great original vintage condition. The surface retains its natural polish with minimal wear. Minor chipping is present on the top of the base (concealed beneath the tabletop), consistent with age and use, and does not affect structure or stability.
DIMENSIONS:
56" W X 19" D X 30" TALL

Ships via White Glove Delivery
Scattered Galeries partners with trusted third-party delivery providers to facilitate White Glove Delivery services within the contiguous 48 states. All shipments are handled independently by third-party providers.
The White Glove Delivery Service includes careful transport and in-home placement of furniture. The delivery team will bring the item into the preferred room, unpack it, place it as directed, and remove all packaging materials.
Orders typically ship within 3-6 weeks, though in rare cases, it may take up to 8 weeks to coordinate delivery. A notification will be sent once the item has shipped. This shipping process is designed to accommodate the specialized handling required for vintage and specialty pieces, which is why third-party furniture shippers are used instead of standard carriers like UPS, USPS, or FedEx.
Once the shipper is ready to schedule delivery, they will contact the recipient directly to arrange a date and time frame. Rural deliveries may require additional scheduling time due to limited routes. To prepare for delivery, a clear path should be ensured to the designated room, as the delivery team cannot move or rearrange existing furniture. A signature will be required upon receipt. If the delivery location presents any challenges—such as tight stairways, narrow hallways, or additional obstacles—there may be additional fees.
For details on delivery timelines, potential additional fees, and how to prepare for delivery, please refer to the Shipping Policy or contact support with any questions.
